The system has detected that refrigerant temperature and pressure are not changing as expected despite the compressor running. This points to a problem with the compressor itself, the refrigerant circuit, or a thermal safety trip caused by overheating.

Continuing to operate the unit with E468 active is not recommended. The compressor is likely working under stress or has already tripped its overload protector to prevent damage. Repeated cycling under this fault condition can cause permanent compressor damage, which significantly increases repair costs.

Repair costs depend heavily on the root cause. An OLP trip that resolves after cool-down with no parts needed may only incur a diagnostic service fee, typically in the range of $75 to $150. Refrigerant leak repair and recharge can cost $200 to $600 or more depending on refrigerant type and leak location.
