E472 indicates an indoor unit electronic expansion valve (EEV) close error on second detection. The system has attempted more than once to verify that the EEV is opening correctly and has failed each time. This fault points to an issue with the EEV coil, its wiring connection to the indoor PCB, or the valve body itself.

Continuing to operate the unit with an active E472 error is not recommended. A malfunctioning EEV can cause improper refrigerant flow, which may lead to compressor stress, reduced efficiency, or further system damage. The unit should be shut down until the fault is diagnosed and resolved.

A power reset may temporarily clear the fault code, but because E472 is a second-detection error, it means the system has already attempted recovery and failed more than once. If the underlying issue with the EEV coil, wiring, or valve body is not corrected, the error will return. A reset alone is not a fix and should not be relied upon as a solution.
