When the PCB reads resistance values outside the valid range, it logs E508 and may restrict or shut down operation. The fault points to the sensor itself, its wiring, or its connector at the PCB.

A power reset may temporarily clear E508, but if the underlying sensor or wiring fault still exists, the code will return once the unit powers back up and the PCB re-checks the sensor circuit. A reset alone is not a repair. The root cause, whether a disconnected connector, failed thermistor, or damaged wire, must be corrected before the fault will clear permanently.

If the fix is simply reseating a loose connector, there may be little to no parts cost, though a service call fee still applies.
