E563 indicates that the discharge temperature sensor for the fixed speed compressor 2 in the sub outdoor unit has been detected as broken away from its mounting position or has lost electrical continuity. The discharge sensor monitors refrigerant temperature at the compressor outlet, and the system shuts down when this reading is lost to protect the compressor. The fault points specifically to the sensor, its holder, or the wiring connecting it to the control board.

Operating the system while E563 is active is not recommended. The discharge temperature sensor provides critical protection against compressor overheating, and running without a valid sensor reading removes an important safeguard. Continued operation under this condition risks compressor damage, which is significantly more costly to repair than the sensor itself. Leave the system off until the fault is resolved.

If the repair only requires reseating a detached sensor or reconnecting a loose harness, the cost is primarily labor, typically in the range of 75 to 150 dollars depending on the service provider and region. If the discharge temperature sensor requires replacement, parts and labor combined generally fall in the range of 150 to 350 dollars. A power reset may temporarily clear the error code, but E563 will return if the underlying cause, such as a loose sensor or a failed sensor element, has not been corrected. Resetting without addressing the root cause does not protect the compressor during subsequent operation. The physical sensor condition and resistance value should be verified before relying on the system to run normally.
