P468 indicates that the indoor unit Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV) has failed to open, detected on the first detection cycle. The EEV controls refrigerant flow into the indoor heat exchanger using a stepper motor coil. The error means the indoor PCB sent a command to open the valve but did not get the expected response. The most common causes are a loose wiring connection or an improperly seated EEV coil.

Continuing to operate the system with a P468 error is not recommended. An EEV that cannot open properly will disrupt refrigerant flow, which can reduce efficiency and potentially cause damage to the compressor over time from improper operating pressures. It is best to address the fault promptly to avoid secondary damage to other components.

A power reset may temporarily clear the P468 code, but the error will return if the underlying fault with the EEV wiring, coil, or valve is not corrected. Because this is flagged as a first-detection event, the system is alerting you to a real component-level problem. Resetting without diagnosis and repair is not a solution and may allow further damage if the valve cannot regulate refrigerant flow correctly.
