Samsung Range Error Code C-A2
BLDC motor operate information
BLDC motor operate information — cooling motor (upper display) or air intake motor (lower display) malfunction.
First step from the service manual
Operate Single Broil Hi within 1 minute; check display information location (upper = cooling motor, lower = air intake motor); check wire harness connection and voltage of Sub PCB CN200 (10VDC–14VDC).

What C-A2 means on a Samsung range
The C-A2 error code on a Samsung range indicates a malfunction in one of two BLDC (brushless DC) motors in the cooling system. The specific motor involved depends on where the error appears on the display: if the code shows on the upper display, the fault is with the cooling motor; if it appears on the lower display, the fault is with the air intake motor. These motors are responsible for managing airflow around the control electronics and cooking cavity, preventing heat damage to sensitive components during high-heat cooking operations like broiling.
The Sub PCB (printed circuit board) at connector CN200 supplies and monitors the operating voltage for these motors. The expected voltage range at CN200 is 10VDC to 14VDC. If the voltage falls outside this range, or if the motor fails to report proper operating feedback to the Sub PCB, the C-A2 code is triggered. BLDC motors rely on electronic commutation and send operational data back to the control board, so the fault can originate from the motor itself, the wiring harness, or the Sub PCB.
Diagnosing C-A2 requires activating the Single Broil Hi mode within one minute of the code appearing to determine which motor is affected based on display location. From there, the technician should inspect the wire harness connections between the affected motor and the Sub PCB CN200, and measure voltage at CN200 to confirm it falls within the 10VDC to 14VDC operating range. A reading outside that range points to a Sub PCB issue, while correct voltage with a non-functioning motor indicates motor failure.

Common causes of C-A2
- 01
Failed BLDC motor (cooling or air intake)
Part replacementThe motor itself may have seized, burned out, or lost the ability to send operational feedback to the Sub PCB. This is the most direct cause of C-A2 and requires motor replacement.
- 02
Loose or damaged wire harness connection
Wiring / connectionThe wiring connecting the motor to Sub PCB connector CN200 may be loose, corroded, or damaged, interrupting the signal or power supply to the motor. Inspect connectors and harness routing carefully.
- 03
Voltage out of range at Sub PCB CN200
Part replacementIf the voltage at CN200 is outside the 10VDC to 14VDC specification, the motor cannot operate correctly even if it is mechanically sound. This points to a failing or failed Sub PCB.
- 04
Obstruction blocking motor or fan blade
Wiring / connectionDebris, grease buildup, or physical obstruction can prevent the motor from spinning freely, causing it to stall and trigger the fault code. Check the fan blade for restrictions before replacing components.
- 05
Sub PCB failure
Part replacementIf wiring and voltage checks do not isolate the fault, the Sub PCB itself may have failed and is not properly supplying power or interpreting motor feedback signals at CN200.
