The Main PCB detects the problem by monitoring the voltage at connector CN30 pins 8 and 10, which should stay between 0.8V and 4.1V during normal operation.

The Cool Select Room compartment may not defrost or maintain temperature correctly while the 11C error is present. Food stored in that specific compartment could be at risk if temperatures drift outside safe ranges. The main refrigerator and freezer sections may continue to function, but it is best to address the error promptly rather than rely on the unit operating normally.

A power reset may temporarily clear the 11C code from the display, but if the underlying sensor circuit fault is still present, the code will return once the control board runs its diagnostic checks again. Resetting does not repair a broken wire, failed sensor, or bad connector. A reset can be useful to confirm whether the fault is intermittent, but a proper voltage check at CN30 is needed to diagnose the actual cause.

Reseating a loose connector, inspecting the wiring harness for visible damage, and cleaning corroded terminals at CN30 do not require specialized tools. However, if the sensor itself has failed or the wiring harness needs replacement, comfort with appliance disassembly and a multimeter for voltage testing are needed. If the fault points to the Main PCB, professional service is recommended.
