This typically points to a failed thermistor, a wiring fault, or a poor connection at the main PCB connector CN30.

Continuing to run the refrigerator with a 4F fault carries some risk. Without a functioning defrost sensor, the control board cannot properly manage the defrost cycle, which can lead to frost buildup on the evaporator coils. Over time, this can restrict airflow and reduce cooling performance, potentially affecting food safety. Addressing the fault promptly is advisable.
