The 50E error code indicates that the Auto Fill infuser system has detected a water overflow condition. The main PCB monitors voltage at connector CN90 pins 11 and 13, and a reading between 0V and 4.5V triggers this error. Normal operation registers between 4.5V and 5V at that connector. The refrigerator halts the auto fill process when this fault is active to prevent water damage.

The 50E error is designed as a protective fault. When triggered, the refrigerator stops the auto fill process to prevent water from continuing to overflow into areas that could cause further damage. However, if there is an actual overflow present, leaving it unaddressed can lead to water pooling inside the unit, potential damage to electronics, or mold growth. Address the error promptly rather than repeatedly resetting it.

If the overflow sensor is detecting a real overflow condition or is faulty, the error will reappear as soon as the auto fill system attempts to operate. A reset alone is not a fix and should only be used as part of a diagnostic process.
