Error code 88 means the refrigerator detected a compressor low voltage fault. The control board measured incoming AC supply voltage below the safe operating threshold: 60V AC on 110-127V circuits or 106V AC on 220-240V circuits. The compressor shuts down to prevent damage until adequate voltage is restored.

A power reset may temporarily clear the error display, but the code will return if the underlying voltage problem is not corrected. If supply voltage at the outlet is consistently below the threshold, or if the PCB has a hardware fault, the error will continue to appear after every reset until the root cause is addressed.
