The 9Er code indicates a humidity sensor error. The refrigerator's main PCB has detected a problem with the humidity sensor circuit, which can include physical separation of the sensor housing, a contact failure, a disconnected wire, or a short circuit. Normal sensor circuit voltage measured at CN40 pins 14 to 20 should read between 1.0V and 4.5V.

The 9Er error is not an immediate safety hazard, but it does mean the refrigerator cannot properly monitor internal humidity levels. Over time, this could affect food preservation quality. The refrigerator will typically continue to cool, but the fault should be resolved to ensure all systems are operating correctly.

A power reset may temporarily clear the 9Er code from the display, but if the underlying fault in the humidity sensor circuit has not been corrected, the error will return. A reset is useful for confirming whether the fault is intermittent, but it does not substitute for proper diagnosis and repair of the sensor, wiring, or connector issue.

However, diagnosing the root cause accurately requires a multimeter to check voltage at the main PCB connector CN40. If wiring damage or a failed sensor is involved, replacement parts and basic electrical repair skills are needed.
