The AF code on a Samsung refrigerator indicates an AUTO FILL Infuser overflow error. The main control board monitors voltage at connector CN90, pins 11 through 13, and triggers this code when that voltage falls between 0V and 4.5V rather than the normal 4.5V to 5V range. This signals that the infuser water chamber has overflowed or that the sensor is detecting an overflow condition. The refrigerator will suspend infuser operation until the fault is resolved.

An active overflow condition in the infuser compartment can result in water pooling inside the refrigerator or leaking onto the floor, which presents a slip hazard and potential for water damage. You should inspect the infuser area for standing water immediately and address any physical overflow before it reaches electrical components. The refrigerator's control system will halt infuser filling to limit further water entry, but the underlying fault still needs to be corrected.

Repair costs vary depending on which component has failed. Wiring repairs or connector reseating may cost little beyond a service call fee, typically in the range of $75 to $150. Replacing a water inlet valve or overflow sensor generally adds $50 to $150 in parts, plus labor. A power reset may temporarily clear the AF code from the display, but the error will return if the underlying cause has not been corrected.
