The CC error code on a Samsung refrigerator signals that the Flex-Zone compartment is experiencing an abnormally high temperature. This compartment has its own temperature sensor, and when that sensor detects conditions outside the acceptable range, the CC code appears on the display. The error is often temporary and clears on its own once normal temperatures are restored.

A reset alone will not resolve the CC error if the underlying cause is still present. The error is designed to disappear on its own once the Flex-Zone temperature returns to a normal range, so removing the heat source (such as closing the door or waiting for stored food to cool down) is more effective than simply resetting the unit. If the code keeps returning after temperatures normalize, further diagnosis is needed.

If the error is caused by user behavior such as an open door or hot food, there is no repair cost at all. If a component like a thermistor or door gasket needs replacement, parts and labor can typically range from around 100 dollars to 300 dollars or more depending on your location and service rates. Sealed system or fan motor repairs can push costs higher, generally in the 200 dollar to 500 dollar range for parts and labor combined.

Start by checking whether the Flex-Zone door was recently left open or if warm food was placed inside the compartment. Close the door securely and give the refrigerator time to cool the zone back down to its target temperature. If the error persists after several hours with no obvious cause, inspect the door gasket for damage and consider having the thermistor and airflow components tested by a technician.

The CC error itself is an alert rather than a critical safety failure, but a Flex-Zone compartment running at high temperatures does mean food stored inside may not be kept at safe temperatures. If the error has been active for more than a couple of hours and you cannot identify a simple cause like an open door, check the condition of any perishable food stored in that compartment and move it to another section of the refrigerator until the issue is resolved.
