The main PCB checks for a voltage between 0.5V and 4.5V at connector CN31 pins 4 and 6 to confirm the sensor is functioning. If that range is not met, the error is triggered.

A failed defrost sensor means the appliance cannot reliably manage the freezer defrost cycle, which can lead to progressive frost buildup on the evaporator coil. Over time, this will reduce cooling efficiency and may cause the freezer and fresh food compartments to lose their target temperatures.
