Samsung Refrigerator Error Code F-1-

The F-1- code indicates a defrost heater error in the freezer compartment. It can be caused by a disconnected or broken heater element, a blown thermal fuse, a wiring contact failure, or a defrost cycle that runs for more than 70 minutes without finishing. The refrigerator triggers this code to alert you that frost may begin accumulating on the evaporator coils.

It is not advisable to continue using the refrigerator without addressing this error. Without a functioning defrost heater, frost will accumulate on the evaporator coils and eventually block airflow completely, causing the refrigerator and freezer sections to lose cooling ability. Food spoilage is a real risk if the issue is left unresolved for an extended period.

Repair costs vary depending on which component has failed. A defrost heater element or thermal fuse typically costs between $20 and $60 for the part alone.
