Short-term use is generally possible, but the defrost cycle may not operate correctly while this fault is active. Over time, the evaporator coil can accumulate excessive frost, restricting airflow and causing the freezer and fresh food sections to lose cooling efficiency. It is best to diagnose and resolve the fault as soon as practical to avoid food spoilage or secondary component damage.
