F-10- indicates a fault in the ice room inner fan motor circuit. The main PCB has detected either a feedback signal line contact error, a separated motor wire, or a motor failure during operation. This fan circulates air through the ice maker compartment, and loss of its feedback signal causes the board to trigger the error code.

The refrigerator's main cooling system will generally continue running, so food stored in the main compartment is typically not at immediate risk. However, ice maker function will be compromised or disabled. Leaving the fault unaddressed for an extended period may cause secondary issues in the ice maker compartment, so repair should not be indefinitely postponed.

A reset may temporarily clear the code from the display, but it will return if the underlying fault in the ice room fan motor circuit has not been resolved. The main PCB continuously monitors the fan feedback signal during operation, so any reset is only a short-term measure. Proper diagnosis and repair of the wiring, connector, or motor is required to permanently clear the error.

Some causes of F-10- are DIY-friendly. Start by checking the wiring harness and connectors leading to the ice room fan motor for loose or disconnected plugs, and reseat any connectors you find. If you have a multimeter, measure the voltage at CN76 pin 2 relative to CN75 to confirm the board is supplying 6V to 12V. If wiring checks out and voltage is correct but the motor still does not run, replacing the motor is the next step and requires basic appliance repair skills.

If only a connector needs reseating or a wiring harness needs repair, costs can be minimal, primarily just your time or a short service call fee in the range of $75 to $150. If the ice room fan motor itself has failed, the part typically costs between $30 and $90 depending on the model, with professional labor adding $100 to $200 on top of that.
