The F-10 code means the refrigerator's display panel board and main MICOM control board have lost communication with each other. It appears on the panel as oP/LC-Er and is accompanied by an alarm. This is a control circuit fault, not a cooling system fault, but it does prevent normal operation. The cause can range from a loose wire connector to a failed control board.

Start by inspecting the wiring harness and connectors between the panel PCB and the main PCB for loose connections, corrosion, or visible damage. If the connections look intact, the diagnostic process involves replacing the main PCB and panel PCB and then using an oscilloscope to verify that the communication signal between the boards is clean and stable. This step confirms whether the new boards resolved the fault or whether a wiring issue remains.

Repair costs depend on which component is at fault. If only a connector or wiring harness section needs attention, costs may be relatively low, typically in the range of a service call fee plus any minor parts. If one or both control boards need replacement, parts and labor combined can range from around $150 to $400 or more depending on the specific model and local labor rates. A power reset may temporarily clear the F-10 code if the communication failure was caused by a momentary electrical glitch. However, if the underlying cause is a faulty PCB, damaged wiring, or a corroded connector, the error will return.
