This error does not represent an immediate safety hazard in most cases. The ice bucket heater operates at low power and its failure primarily affects ice dispensing performance rather than food safety. However, a shorted heater indicated by a 0 ohm reading should be addressed promptly to avoid potential electrical issues on the circuit.

A reset may temporarily clear the error code from the display, but the fault will return if the underlying problem is not corrected. Because the main PCB actively monitors the resistance of the heater circuit, any out-of-range condition will retrigger the error. If the reading is infinite, check the connector for slip-out or damaged terminals and inspect the wiring harness for breaks. If the connector and wiring are intact but resistance remains at 0 or infinity, the heater element itself will need to be replaced. Reconnecting a loose connector or repairing a broken wire may resolve the error without replacing any parts.
