Without reliable sensor feedback, the control board may not regulate cooling correctly, which could lead to food spoilage. It is best to address the error promptly and use a separate thermometer in the meantime to check the compartment temperature.

A reset may temporarily clear the error code from the display, but if the underlying sensor fault still exists, the code will return. The error reflects a real circuit condition, such as a voltage reading outside the 1.0V to 4.5V range at the sensor circuit, that will not resolve on its own without physical inspection and repair. A reset is useful for confirming whether the fault is intermittent, but it should not be used as a substitute for proper diagnosis.
