This error indicates a fault in the freezer defrost sensor circuit. The control board has detected that the sensor is reading a temperature above +149°F (+65°C) or below -58°F (-50°C), which is outside the valid operating range. The fault can be caused by a disconnected sensor, a wiring problem, corroded connector pins, or a failed sensor thermistor. The defrost cycle will not operate correctly until the fault is resolved.

The refrigerator may continue cooling in the short term, but the defrost cycle will be compromised, which can lead to frost accumulation on the evaporator coil. Over time, heavy frost buildup will restrict airflow and cause the freezer and fresh food sections to lose cooling ability. It is best to address the error promptly to avoid food spoilage or further component damage.
