The R-SENSOR error means the refrigerator compartment temperature sensor is sending a signal that falls outside the acceptable input voltage range of 0.5V to 4.5V at the MICOM control board. The control board detects this as either an OPEN fault (temperature reading below -50 degrees Celsius) or a SHORT fault (temperature reading above +50 degrees Celsius). In either case, the sensor circuit is not functioning correctly and the refrigerator cannot accurately regulate the compartment temperature.

Continuing to run the refrigerator with an active R-SENSOR error is not recommended. Because the control board cannot read an accurate compartment temperature, it may not cycle the compressor correctly, which could lead to inadequate cooling and potential food spoilage. It is best to address the fault promptly and transfer perishable food to another refrigerator in the meantime.

A power reset may temporarily clear the error code from the display, but the error will return if the underlying sensor circuit fault has not been corrected. The MICOM continuously monitors the sensor input voltage, so any reading outside the 0.5V to 4.5V range will cause the error to reappear.
