EI:07 is a control board fault code specific to Speed Queen washers, triggered when the main control module fails to successfully write data to the onboard real-time clock (RTC). The real-time clock is an integrated circuit within the control board responsible for tracking timing functions, cycle sequencing, and operational logs. When the control attempts to write to this RTC and receives no confirmation or encounters a persistent error, it halts normal operation and stores the EI:07 fault code. This is an internal communication failure within the control assembly itself, not a fault in an external sensor or wiring harness.

Because the RTC is embedded within the main control board rather than existing as a separately serviceable component, any failure of the write process points directly to the control board as the failed assembly.
