What Er:11 means on a Vision washer

Er:11 on a Vision washer indicates a loss of communication between the main control board and the inverter board. The inverter board is responsible for converting DC power to variable-frequency AC power to drive the wash motor at different speeds. When the main control cannot establish or maintain a data signal with the inverter, it throws Er:11 and halts operation to prevent uncontrolled motor behavior.

The most common root cause is a fault in the wire harness that connects the two boards. This harness carries both power and communication signals, and any break, loose connector, corroded pin, or chafed wire segment can interrupt the signal path. Vibration over time can loosen connector seats, and moisture exposure inside the cabinet can cause pin corrosion that raises contact resistance to a point where the signal cannot pass reliably.

If the harness checks out electrically, the fault may lie in the inverter board itself or, less commonly, the main control board. A failed inverter board will not respond to control signals regardless of harness condition. Because the inverter handles high-frequency switching and is exposed to motor load variations, it is a known failure point. Systematic diagnosis should start with the harness before condemning either board.

Common causes of Er:11

  1. 01

Loose or disconnected wire harness connector

    Wiring / connection

The connector between the main control board and the inverter board may have worked loose due to vibration. Inspect both ends of the harness for connectors that are not fully seated and press them firmly until they click into place.

  2. 02

    Damaged or broken wire harness

    Part replacement

A wire in the harness may be chafed, pinched, or broken internally. Visually trace the full length of the harness and flex it gently while checking for continuity with a multimeter to locate any open or intermittent wire.

  3. 03

    Corroded harness pins or terminals

    Wiring / connection

Moisture inside the cabinet can cause pin corrosion at the connector terminals, increasing resistance enough to drop the communication signal. Look for green or white oxidation on the metal pins and clean or replace the affected connector.

  4. 04

    Failed inverter board

    Part replacement

If the harness is intact and connections are secure, the inverter board itself may have failed and is no longer responding to signals from the main control. This board handles high-frequency motor control and can fail due to power surges or normal wear.

  5. 05

    Failed main control board

    Part replacement

Less commonly, the main control board may be unable to transmit the communication signal to the inverter. This is typically diagnosed after ruling out the harness and inverter board as the source of the fault.

Frequently asked questions about Er:11

What does Er:11 mean on a Vision washer?
Er:11 means the main control board and the inverter board have lost communication with each other. The inverter board controls motor speed, and without a reliable signal from the main control, the washer cannot operate safely. The error points first to the wire harness connecting these two boards as the likely source of the problem.
How do I fix Er:11 on my Vision washer?
Start by unplugging the washer and inspecting the wire harness that runs between the main control board and the inverter board. Check both connectors for secure seating, and look along the harness for any pinched, chafed, or broken wires. If the harness is intact and connections are tight, the next step is testing the inverter board and, if needed, the main control board for failure.
Is it safe to keep using my Vision washer when Er:11 is displayed?
No, you should not continue running the washer while Er:11 is active. The error indicates the motor control system is not communicating properly, which means motor speed cannot be regulated correctly. Running the washer in this condition could damage the motor, the inverter board, or other components.
Will resetting my Vision washer clear the Er:11 error?
A reset may temporarily clear the display, but Er:11 will return if the underlying communication fault has not been corrected. If the harness connection is loose, reseating it before resetting may resolve the issue permanently. If there is a damaged wire or a failed board, the error will reappear until the faulty component is repaired or replaced.
How much does it cost to repair Er:11 on a Vision washer?
Repair cost depends on the failed component. If only the wire harness needs replacement, parts typically range from $15 to $60 depending on the harness assembly. An inverter board replacement generally runs $80 to $200 or more for the part alone, with additional labor costs if a technician performs the repair. Main control board replacements fall in a similar price range.
