F8E0 means the Indigo control board has detected the cooling fan spinning below 500 RPM. This fan cools the electronic control components during operation. The code points to a blocked blower wheel, a failed fan motor, a wiring problem, or in less common cases, a faulty ACU.

Using the range with F8E0 active is not recommended. The cooling fan protects the control electronics from heat damage during and after cooking. Running the range without adequate fan cooling risks overheating the ACU and other components, which can turn a fan motor replacement into a much more expensive control board failure.

Unplugging the range will clear the active display of F8E0, but the code will return as soon as the control board detects the fan speed is still below 500 RPM during the next operation. The underlying cause, whether a blocked blower, failed motor, or wiring fault, must be repaired for the code to stay cleared.

Start by unplugging the range and removing the console to access the ACU and blower assembly. Check the blower wheel for any physical obstructions and clear them if present. Then test the fan motor with a multimeter; it should read approximately 105 ohms across the windings. If resistance is well outside that value, replace the fan motor. If the motor and blower check out, inspect the wiring harness for damaged or loose connectors.

If the repair is only a blocked blower wheel, the fix costs nothing beyond your time. A replacement cooling fan motor typically costs between $30 and $80 for the part. If a technician is needed for diagnosis and installation, expect to add $100 to $200 in labor depending on your area. An ACU replacement, if the board is faulty, can run $150 to $350 or more for the part alone.
