This error means the Central Control Unit has lost its electrical connection to the drain pump. The washer halts the cycle when this happens to prevent further damage. The problem is most often a loose wire harness connector, damaged wiring, or a pump that has failed internally.

You should not continue running the washer when this error is active. The control board has detected a loss of communication with the pump, which means the machine cannot drain reliably. Running a cycle without a functioning drain circuit could result in water overflow or additional component damage.

Repair costs vary depending on what has failed. Reseating a loose connector costs nothing beyond your time. A replacement drain pump typically runs between $40 and $120 for the part, plus labor if a technician does the work. A CCU replacement is more expensive, with parts often ranging from $150 to $350, making a professional diagnosis important before purchasing components.

Some cases can be resolved without professional help. Start by unplugging the washer, then inspect and firmly reseat all wire harness connectors running to the pump and CCU. If connectors look clean and secure but the error returns, testing or replacing the pump typically requires basic electrical testing skills and the right tools, which may be beyond a beginner DIYer.

Disconnecting power for a few minutes may temporarily clear the error display, but if the underlying wiring or pump problem is still present, the error will return as soon as the washer tries to operate the pump again. A reset is useful for confirming whether the fault is intermittent, but it does not fix the root cause.
