ASKO Washer Error Code PFE

PFE stands for pump filter error on an Asko washer. It means the drum RPM was more than 70 rotations per minute below the target speed during spin, and the machine had to skip the main spin and fall back to a balance spin at least 10 times. The most common trigger is a blocked pump filter or drain pump that prevents the drum from draining fully before the spin cycle. Cleaning the pump filter is the first step to diagnose and resolve this code.

It is not recommended to continue running the washer while PFE is active. The machine is already skipping its main spin cycle, which means laundry will come out excessively wet and the underlying drainage problem is unresolved. Continued operation with a blocked pump can strain the motor and potentially lead to water not being evacuated properly. Address the filter and pump issue before resuming normal use.
