Electrolux Cooktop Error Code 51

Error code 51 means the cooktop has detected a break in the temperature sensor circuit for the left front heating element. The sensor, called an RTD, should measure approximately 1000 ohms at room temperature. When the signal is lost or out of range, the cooktop disables the affected element and displays this code. The cause is typically a failed sensor, a loose connector, or a faulty filter board.

The left front element will be disabled while error code 51 is active, so that specific burner will not operate. The remaining elements on the cooktop may continue to function normally. It is not advisable to attempt to override or ignore the error, as the RTD sensor is a safety component that prevents element overheating.

Repair costs depend on which component has failed. If only the connector needs reseating, the fix may cost nothing beyond a service call fee, which typically ranges from $75 to $150.
