Error code 52 indicates a break or open circuit detected in the temperature sensor (RTD) for the lower-right heating element. The cooktop uses this RTD to monitor element temperature, and when it reads an open circuit instead of the expected approximately 1000 ohms, the unit flags code 52 and disables that burner zone. The fault can originate from a loose connector, a failed sensor, damaged wiring, or a defective filter board.

When code 52 is active, the cooktop disables the lower-right burner zone as a protective measure, so uncontrolled overheating of that element is not a concern during the fault condition. The remaining burner zones may continue to operate normally. However, you should not attempt to bypass the fault, and the cooktop should be serviced promptly to restore full functionality.

Repair costs vary depending on which component has failed. Reseating a connector costs nothing beyond a service call fee, which typically ranges from around 75 to 150 dollars.
