Electrolux Cooktop Error Code E039

E039 indicates a configuration mismatch between the ESEC-UIB control board and one of the two Induction Housing Assemblies. This typically occurs after one of the induction housings has been replaced and the board has not yet been reconfigured to recognize the new component. It is a setup error and does not necessarily mean a part has failed. Running the built-in configuration routine will usually resolve it.

Press and hold the WARM key, then press the right front zone ON key until you hear a beep. Continue holding the WARM key, release the right front zone ON key, then press and hold the left front zone ON key until a second beep sounds and the configuration process begins. This re-pairs the replacement induction housing with the ESEC-UIB and should clear the E039 fault.

If the error is resolved through the reconfiguration key sequence alone, there is no parts cost. If the fault is caused by a defective induction housing assembly, replacement parts can range from roughly $150 to $400 or more depending on the specific unit. Adding professional labor for diagnosis and installation could bring the total to between $250 and $600 or higher.

A power reset may clear the fault temporarily, but if the configuration mismatch remains unresolved, the error will return when power is restored. Disconnect power, wait 30 seconds, and reapply. If E039 comes back, the full key-sequence reconfiguration procedure must be performed to permanently clear the fault.

The cooktop is likely to be non-operational or restricted in function while E039 is active, as the control board cannot fully validate its hardware configuration. Do not attempt to bypass the fault for cooking use. Complete the reconfiguration procedure first to restore normal, safe operation.
