E052 indicates a break or open circuit in the temperature sensor for the left rear induction element. The cooktop's control board is not receiving a valid signal from that sensor, so it disables the left rear zone as a safety measure. The fault can originate at the sensor itself, the wiring harness, or the connector at the Induction Housing Assembly.

The left rear induction zone will typically be disabled when E052 is active, so that specific burner should not operate. The remaining zones may still function, but it is advisable to resolve the fault promptly rather than continuing to rely on a unit with a known sensor fault. Using a cooktop with a compromised temperature monitoring circuit carries a risk of undetected overheating.

Repair costs vary depending on the failed component. If only the sensor connector needs reseating, there may be no parts cost, just a service call fee that typically ranges from $75 to $150.
