E064 means the temperature sensor for the right rear induction burner has detected an overtemperature condition. The cooktop shuts down that burner zone as a protective measure to prevent damage to the coil and control electronics. The fault is most commonly related to cooling system problems such as a blocked airway or a failed fan. A technician should inspect ventilation and fan operation as the first diagnostic step.

The right rear burner zone will be disabled while E064 is active, which is the cooktop protecting itself from heat damage. The remaining burner zones may still function, but it is not advisable to continue heavy use until the underlying cause is identified and corrected. Operating the unit with a compromised cooling system could cause progressive damage to the electronics.

Repair costs vary depending on the cause. Clearing a blocked vent or correcting an installation clearance issue involves little to no parts cost, with only a service call fee if a technician is needed, typically in the range of $75 to $150. Replacing a cooling fan or thermistor can bring total costs to roughly $150 to $350 including labor. Powering the cooktop off at the circuit breaker for several minutes and restarting may temporarily clear the fault if the unit has cooled down sufficiently. However, if the root cause such as a blocked vent or failing fan has not been addressed, the error will return once the right rear burner is used again and temperatures rise. A reset alone is not a repair.
