The PF code itself is not a safety hazard. It simply means the cooktop lost power at some point and is now back on. All active cooking zones will have shut off during the power interruption, which is a built-in safety behavior. If you were cooking when the power was interrupted, verify your cooktop settings before resuming use.

Because the PF code is usually a notification rather than a component failure, there is often no repair cost at all. If the cause is a tripped breaker or a loose connection, addressing those issues is generally low cost.
