Inlet Control Thermistor open circuit

Inlet Control Thermistor open circuit — thermistor or wiring defective.

First step from the service manual

Check resistance of Inlet Control Thermistor, and check wiring for open circuit. Resistance should be between 47K Ohm and 66K Ohm at room temperature (68-77°F or 20-25°C). Replace Inlet Control Thermistor and/or wiring and retest.

Inlet Control Thermistor open circuit —

From Service Manual 889281, p.13:

1.Check resistance of Inlet Control Thermistor, and check wiring for open circuit. Resistance should be between 47K Ohm and 66K Ohm at room temperature (68-77°F or 20-25°C). Replace Inlet Control Thermistor and/or wiring and retest.

2.Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at the sensor body. Expected: 10 kΩ to 12 kΩ at 77°F (25°C).

3.Check the sensor harness for opens and shorts. Back-probe the sensor pins at the control board connector; a reading outside 5 kΩ to 50 kΩ indicates a failed sensor.
