Frigidaire Washer Error Code CLn

CLn means the washer has entered or is prompting you to run its System Clean cycle. This is a built-in maintenance mode that cleans the interior of the drum and internal components. It is not a fault code and does not indicate a broken part. The display will clear once the cleaning cycle finishes.

You can delay running the cycle, but it is not advisable to ignore it indefinitely. Skipping regular cleaning cycles allows detergent residue, mildew, and mineral deposits to accumulate inside the drum and internal passages. Over time this can cause unpleasant odors and potentially affect wash performance.

Running the System Clean cycle requires only a cleaning agent, which typically costs between $1 and $6 depending on whether you use liquid chlorine bleach or a dedicated washer cleaning pouch. No parts or professional service are needed for this notification under normal circumstances.

Remove all laundry from the drum, then add 1 cup of liquid chlorine bleach or 1 pouch of Tide Washing Machine Cleaner to the detergent dispenser chamber. Press Start to run the cycle. Once the cycle completes, CLn will clear from the display automatically.

A power reset may temporarily dismiss the CLn display, but on models that track wash cycle counts the prompt is likely to return until the actual System Clean cycle is completed. The recommended approach is to run the cleaning cycle fully rather than bypassing it with a reset.
