Continued use is not recommended while error code 04 is active. The refrigerator fan circulates cold air through the fresh food and freezer compartments, and if it is not operating correctly, food temperatures may rise to unsafe levels. Check the actual temperature inside the refrigerator and move perishables if the unit is not maintaining proper cooling.

A reset may temporarily clear the error code from the display, but it will return if the underlying wiring or component fault is not corrected. The control board logs this code because it is genuinely not receiving the required feedback signals from the fan motor. Resetting without repairing the root cause does not restore proper fan operation and should not be used as a substitute for diagnosis.
