GE Washer Error Code 25

Error code 25 is a Pressure Sensor Dropout fault. It means the control board detected a water level reading that does not match expected conditions, either a sudden drop from above 6 inches to below 1 inch in 5 seconds without draining, or a reading below 0.5 inches while more than 26 gallons have been counted into the tub. The fault points to the pressure sensing system, which includes the sensor itself, the air hose, and the air dome port on the tub.

A reset may temporarily clear the display, but the code will return if the underlying cause is not resolved. Disconnecting power for a few minutes can reset the control board, but the pressure sensor, hose, or water supply issue must be corrected for the fault to stay cleared. Do not rely on a reset as a fix.

If the fix is simply clearing a clogged air dome port or reseating a loose pressure hose, there is no parts cost involved. A replacement pressure sensor typically runs in the range of $20 to $60 for the part. If a water inlet valve needs replacement, parts generally cost between $30 and $80. Adding professional labor, a full repair visit can range from $100 to $250 depending on what components need replacement.

Start by confirming the household water supply valves are fully open and that the inlet valve screens are not clogged. Next, locate the pressure sensor hose and inspect it for kinks, cracks, or loose connections. Clear any buildup from the tub air dome port. If those checks pass, the pressure sensor may need to be tested or replaced.

It is not recommended to continue running the washer with this error active. The fault indicates the machine cannot accurately track how much water is in the tub, which could lead to overfilling or incorrect cycle operation. Stop the cycle and diagnose the pressure sensing system before resuming use.
