Error code 30 on a GE washer indicates a pressure sensor dropout. The machine detected a water level above 6 inches that then fell below 1 inch within 5 seconds without a drain cycle occurring. This means the water level sensor lost its signal unexpectedly, which the control board flags as an abnormal condition. The washer will stop the cycle until the underlying cause is resolved.

You should not continue running cycles while error code 30 is active. The washer is detecting an abnormal loss of its water level signal, which means it cannot reliably monitor how much water is in the tub. Running the machine in this condition could result in improper fill levels or undetected overfill situations. Address the fault before resuming normal use.

Repair costs depend on which component has failed. If only the pressure hose needs replacement, parts are typically inexpensive, ranging from around $10 to $30.
