You should not continue running the dishwasher while F8-E2 is active. The error indicates the drain system may not be functioning correctly, which means water may not drain at the end of a cycle. Running cycles with a compromised drain motor can also place additional stress on the control board circuitry.

Repair costs vary depending on the cause. Clearing a debris blockage or reseating a loose connector may cost little to nothing beyond your time if you do it yourself.
