Running a cooling cycle at extremely low outdoor temperatures can cause refrigerant pressure conditions that stress the compressor, reduce lubrication effectiveness, and potentially cause mechanical damage. The system monitors outdoor temperature continuously and blocks compressor activation when conditions fall outside the acceptable operating range.

The primary component involved in triggering this code is the outdoor inlet air temperature sensor. This sensor feeds real-time ambient temperature data to the control board, which uses the reading to determine whether compressor operation is permissible.
