The EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory) is a small non-volatile memory chip integrated into the inverter PCB that stores critical configuration data, calibration parameters, and operational settings for the variable-speed compressor drive circuit. When the inverter control module cannot successfully read from or write to this memory chip, it triggers the E571 fault and typically shuts down compressor operation as a protective measure.

This type of fault can arise from several conditions. Corrupted data within the EEPROM itself is a common culprit, often caused by a power surge, voltage fluctuation, or an abrupt loss of power during a write cycle. Physical damage to the memory chip or its solder connections on the inverter board can also prevent reliable communication. In some cases, electrostatic discharge or heat stress over time degrades the chip's ability to retain or transfer data accurately.
