The bE2 code on a Samsung dryer means the control board has detected a button being held in the active position for more than 30 seconds. This can be caused by a physically stuck button, debris or liquid in the control panel, or an internally failed switch. The dryer stops normal operation when this condition is detected to prevent unintended behavior.

A power reset can clear the bE2 error if the root cause has been resolved, for example if a button was temporarily stuck and is now free. To reset, unplug the dryer or turn off its circuit breaker for at least one minute, then restore power. If the error returns right away with no buttons being touched, a reset alone will not fix the underlying hardware fault.

If the fix is simply freeing a stuck button or removing debris from the panel, there is no parts cost involved. If the control panel assembly needs to be replaced, parts and labor costs can range from roughly $150 to $350 depending on the specific model and your location. A failed main control board replacement tends to fall toward the higher end of repair costs.

Start by checking every button on the control panel to make sure none are stuck, jammed, or being held down by an object. Once you confirm the panel is clear, restart the dryer by cutting power for about one minute and then turning it back on. If the error comes back immediately without any buttons being pressed, the control panel assembly or a switch inside it likely needs to be replaced.

The dryer will typically not operate normally while the bE2 error is active, which limits the safety risk during that time. However, you should not attempt to force the dryer to run while the fault is present.
