The IPM Fault error means the Intelligent Power Module, the electronic assembly that controls power delivery to the inverter compressor, has detected an abnormal condition and shut down. This can be caused by a short in the compressor windings, low supply voltage to the IPM, or an internal failure of the module itself. The compressor will not run while this fault is active, so the refrigerator will lose cooling capability until the underlying issue is resolved.

Unplugging the refrigerator for a few minutes and powering it back on may temporarily clear the displayed code, but if the underlying fault condition still exists, the IPM will detect it again on the next compressor startup and the error will return. A reset alone is not a fix. The root cause, whether it is a phase short, low voltage, or a failed module, must be corrected before the error stays cleared.
