Whirlpool Oven Error Code F11

F11 on a Whirlpool TAD model oven signals a communication failure between the G2SMART main control board and the TEX module. These two electronic components must exchange data continuously for the oven to operate correctly. When that communication link fails, the oven displays F11 and stops normal operation. The fault can be caused by a loose connector, a damaged harness, or a failed TEX or G2SMART component.

An F11 error indicates that the internal control communication has failed, which means the oven may not operate as intended or may not operate at all. Using the oven in this state is not recommended because the control system cannot reliably manage oven functions. The oven should remain powered off until the fault is diagnosed and repaired.

Repair costs depend on which component has failed. If only the wiring connection needs to be reseated, the cost may be limited to a service call fee, typically in the range of $75 to $150. Resetting the oven by cutting power at the breaker for a few minutes may temporarily clear the F11 display if the communication disruption was a momentary glitch.
