Wolf Range Error Code 07-05

Error code 07-05 on a Wolf range means the MDL relay has been detected as shorted. The relay module controls power switching for key cooking components, and a shorted relay means the control system can no longer properly cycle that relay on and off. The range will disable affected functions until the fault is resolved.

It is not recommended to continue operating the range with this error active. A shorted relay can cause unintended current flow to connected components, which may result in further component damage or create a fire hazard. The range should be kept unpowered until the relay module has been inspected and the fault resolved.

A power reset may temporarily clear the error display, but if the relay module is genuinely shorted, the fault code will return once the control system runs its diagnostics again. Resetting the unit does not repair a shorted relay, and the underlying hardware fault must be corrected for the error to be permanently resolved.

The first step is to check all wiring connections at the relay module for loose terminals, burning, or damaged insulation, which a knowledgeable DIYer can do after disconnecting power. However, if the relay module itself is shorted internally, it must be replaced, and working around high-voltage components in a Wolf range is best handled by a qualified appliance technician.
