Wolf Range Error Code 07-21

Error code 07-21 means the control system has detected an open circuit in the triac that controls the cooling fan, located on the Relay Module. A triac is a semiconductor switch used to energize the cooling fan motor, and an open condition means the fan may not be able to run. This fault requires inspection of the wiring connections and likely replacement of the Relay Module.

Continued use is not recommended when this error is active. The cooling fan protects the control electronics and other heat-sensitive components from thermal damage during and after cooking cycles. Operating the range without a functioning cooling fan risks overheating the electronics, which can lead to additional component failures and potentially create a safety hazard.

Powering the range off at the circuit breaker and back on may temporarily clear the error code, but if the underlying fault still exists, the code will return once the control system runs its diagnostics again. A reset does not repair a failed triac or a damaged wiring connection. The root cause must be identified and corrected to permanently resolve the fault.

A knowledgeable DIYer can start by checking all wiring harness connections at the Relay Module and the cooling fan motor for looseness or corrosion, since a poor connection can cause this fault. However, if the triac on the Relay Module has actually failed, the entire Relay Module will need to be replaced, which involves working with line-voltage wiring and internal components. For most homeowners, calling a qualified appliance technician is the safer and more reliable approach.

If only wiring connections need to be reseated or cleaned, the repair cost is mainly the technician labor charge, typically in the range of $100 to $200 depending on your area.
