Wolf Range Error Code 09-03

Error code 09-03 indicates an open circuit fault in the ambient thermistor located inside the User Interface Module (UIM). The control system cannot read a valid temperature signal from that sensor, which triggers the fault. The primary corrective action is replacement of the UIM module.

The 09-03 fault disables the control system's ability to monitor the temperature of its own electronics, which is a protective function. Continued use while this fault is active is not recommended, as the range may behave unpredictably or additional faults could develop. It is best to leave the range off until the fault is resolved.

A power reset, such as cycling the breaker or unplugging the unit, may temporarily clear the error display, but the code will return if the underlying fault is still present. Because 09-03 reflects an actual hardware failure in the UIM thermistor circuit, clearing the code through a reset does not fix the problem. The faulty component or wiring must be addressed for the error to be permanently resolved.

A knowledgeable DIYer can inspect wiring connectors and harnesses for obvious damage or loose connections, which is a reasonable first step. However, if the thermistor itself has failed, the entire UIM module must be replaced, which involves working with the control electronics and requires care when handling connectors and components.
