Crosley Washer Error Code 08

Error code 08 on a Crosley washer signals a water sensor level fault. It means the low water level was not properly satisfied before the high water level contacts in the pressure switch opened. This points to a problem in the fill system or the pressure sensing components. The recommended starting point is the No Fill Test described in the service documentation.

It is not recommended to continue using the washer while error code 08 is active. A water level sensing fault means the machine cannot reliably monitor how much water is in the tub, which could lead to underfilling, poor wash performance, or unexpected behavior during the cycle. Diagnosing and resolving the fault before running additional loads is the safer approach.

A reset may temporarily clear the error code, but it will not fix the underlying problem. If the pressure switch sequence fault condition still exists, the code will return during the next fill cycle. A proper repair requires diagnosing the root cause, whether it is the air dome tube, pressure switch, inlet valve, or water supply, and correcting it before the machine will operate reliably.

Start by inspecting the air dome tube that runs from the tub to the pressure switch, looking for kinks, cracks, or blockages. Next, check that the water supply valves are fully open and that water flow to the machine is strong. If those check out, the pressure switch or water inlet valve may need to be tested for proper function and replaced if defective. Following the No Fill Test procedure on page 11 is the recommended diagnostic path.

Repair costs vary depending on the faulty component. A replacement pressure switch typically costs between $15 and $50 for the part, while a water inlet valve generally runs $20 to $65. If professional labor is required, expect to add $75 to $150 or more depending on your location and the technician. In some cases, the fix may be as simple as clearing a blocked air dome tube, which costs nothing beyond the time to inspect it.
