E52 indicates that the control board is receiving a bad or absent signal from the tacho generator, the speed sensor mounted on the wash motor. The board uses this signal to monitor and regulate motor RPM during the cycle. Without a valid signal, the washer stops operation to prevent uncontrolled motor behavior. Diagnosing this code starts with measuring resistance between pins 4 and 5 at the motor plug.

It is not advisable to run the washer while E52 is active. The tacho signal is what allows the control board to prevent the motor from over-speeding or running out of control. Bypassing or ignoring the error risks overheating the motor or causing electrical damage. Stop using the washer until the cause of the code is identified and repaired.
