The nF code means the washer attempted to fill with water but could not complete the fill within the required time. nF stands for no fill. The washer stops the cycle and displays this code to alert you that water did not enter the tub as expected. Common causes include closed supply valves, clogged inlet screens, kinked hoses, or a failed water inlet valve.

You should not attempt to run a wash cycle while the nF error is active. The washer has stopped specifically because it cannot confirm water is entering the tub, and running the machine without adequate water can stress the motor and pump components. Resolve the underlying cause before resuming normal use.

Resetting the washer may temporarily clear the code, but it will return as soon as the machine attempts another fill cycle if the underlying problem has not been fixed. To permanently clear the nF error, the cause of the fill failure must be diagnosed and corrected first. After completing the repair, the code should not reappear when the washer runs a normal cycle.

Start by confirming both hot and cold water supply valves behind the washer are fully open. Next, turn off the water, disconnect the inlet hoses, and check the small mesh screens at the back of the washer for blockages caused by sediment or mineral buildup. If the screens and hoses are clear, the water inlet valve solenoids may need to be tested for continuity and the valve replaced if a coil has failed. A faulty pressure switch can also trigger this code and should be evaluated if other components check out.

If the fix is simply cleaning clogged inlet screens or adjusting a supply valve, the repair costs nothing beyond your time.
